Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3x | P35C-DS3R

Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3x | P35C-DS3R
Form Factor: ATX
Price: Ranges from $89.99 to $152.99 Retail or to $129.99 Open Box (depends on model)

The Gigabyte P35 series of motherboards are a fantastic modern choice for running Leopard with EFI. Unlike older motherboards, this series supports the new 45nm processors. These motherboards are also fantastic overclockers, capable of pushing high performance processors over 4GHz with proper cooling. The only patch needed is an audio patch. There are a few minor problems though: RAID doesn’t work, IDE has some issues (works in some cases, other times it doesn’t), and the AHCI BIOS increases boot time by 10 or 20 seconds. However, despite the minor things, this motherboard is a very good choice at a very reasonable price.

There are 4 variants of the motherboard that are compatible with OS X: the GA-P35-DS3L, DS3R, DS3P, and the P35C-DS3R which has DDR3 RAM support. The more expensive models have slightly more features but any of these 4 will work fine for running OS X.
